Helping staff feel safe and heard, so they can focus on their work.

Challenge
A recently expanded care network spanned many types of sites, each with its own approach to safety and security, and their effectiveness varied widely. Leadership needed one standard that would work across all of them.
Solution
We started by listening to staff in every care setting and let their input set the priorities. We then assessed the existing program against the system’s strengths and pinpointed the gaps that mattered most. To turn those findings into real change, we delivered practical recommendations and a phased plan teams could act on right away.
Results
WHY LISTENING MATTERS

27%

lower turnover when staff feel their opinions count.

Nearly two in five healthcare workers have considered leaving their jobs over safety concerns. Yet according to Gallup, only about three in 10 U.S. employees feel their opinions count at work. By putting staff input at the center of our work, we helped raise engagement across the system, reduce safety incidents, and improve retention. Afterward, staff reported feeling more positive about where they work.

Here’s what research shows is possible when organizations listen:

Additional Outcomes

Decreased confusion.

Clinics, community sites, and other points of care now have a single safety and security standard to follow.

Faster, stronger responses.

Key staff across the network now have the authority and tools to act quickly on safety concerns and follow through.

Better prepared teams.

Staff across the network completed required training, laying the groundwork for hands-on practice.
